npm install google-map-react

First steps

• create component and route
• copy example from readme https://github.com/google-map-react/google-map-react
• parameters: https://github.com/google-map-react/google-map-react/blob/master/API.md
• Google API key
  • log in https://console.cloud.google.com/
  • create a new project
  • activate JavaScript API from the library

  • limit key to localhost
  • error: for development purposes only -> add credit card information to google account! (90 days 300$)
• create marker component

Observations

• keyboard shortcuts are enabled
• mouse click on map is enabled
• zoom and fullscreen buttons are there by default
• no marker component
• many urls in the documentation are outdated and cannot be opened
• no documentation for draggable markers? -> found tutorial (draggable map, mouse on child)
